Ornamental tree and shrub fertilization
Like all plants, ornamental trees and shrubs require the right nutrients to transform sunlight into food that plant can use to grow.
Nutrients come primarily from elements found in the soil. These are basically chemical elements and compounds that are absorbed through the roots cell structure along with moisture also found in the soil. It is these natural chemicals the tree uses to manufacture all of the plant's cells whether they are the wood tissue or the leaf tissue. You might think of these nutrients as vitamins. They are the vital elements for healthy plant growth. They're not the food, but they're required to process sunlight into food the plant can use.
Part of our ornamental tree and shrub care is to make sure there are enough of these chemical elements available for the plant.
Scientific soil testing and analysis
How do we know what is available for your plant? We conduct a periodic soil testing and analysis. This gives us a very good idea of what is in your soil, what kinds of nutrients are available and what nutrients are lacking.
With this scientific data at hand, we can apply exactly what your plants need when they need them. Many companies just assume certain things about soils and apply nutrients based on those assumptions whether they're true or not. We don't!
Our scientific soil testing and analysis gives us details about your soil and what it needs for healthy plant growth. We therefore know what nutrients to apply, without guessing, and which nutrients are already present so we don't over-fertilize and cause potential environmental problems.
